Holes: are they nothing or are they something? Ponder the phenomenon of the Hole through the sculptures of Claire Bilderback (Critical Studies MA 23). Solo exhibition curated by Alex Sherman (Film/Video MFA 24) . This work is part of a night of programming at the CalArts at the Reef Residency.

Please join us for the opening of PROXY, CHIMERA, ORACLE, an exhibition at The Reef featuring new work by 34 recent MFA graduates from the School of Art.The exhibition, curated by Nora N. Khan, presents aesthetic and imaginal strategies—proxies, chimeras, oracles—for living in the wake, after homes, communal spaces, safe havens, and any semblance of certainty have been evacuated.

The School of Art presents “Almanac of Ritual Activity”, an MFA2 Group show, open from November 3,2025-November 8, 2025 in D301, D300, Main Gallery, L Shape, Mint, Lime, and A402. 

Opening reception will be held on the evening of Thursday, November 7.

What a strange idea — another Misanthrope, and in English, no less. I'd better have a good reason… For me, it's not the well-worn theme of human hypocrisy, but Célimène's determination and integrity that make it worth doing. 

When a struggling art dealer inherits an installation of humanlike robots, he believes he's stumbled upon the solution to his financial troubles. But he's forced to confront questions of ownership and autonomy when the figures come to life. Hilariously unsettling, Property Rites blurs the line between art and life, exploring questions about control and possessions.
