About:
Josh Shaffner is a filmmaker and visual artist originally from Missoula, Montana. He received a BFA in Painting and Drawing from The University of Montana in 2005 and an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts in 2015 and is currently special faculty in Experimental Animation at CalArts.
He is the author and animator of several short films including The Rehabilitation of Sleep (2012), Flaws (2014), Service (2015), and In Dreams (2023) which won the Grand Prize at the New Chitose Animation Festival.
Josh has animated for Smiling Friends (2020), Rick and Morty (2024), Fall Out Boy: Love from the Other Side (2023), My Year of Dicks (2022) and more.
