Kang Seung Lee is a Korean artist living in Los Angeles. Working across drawing, embroidery, video, sculpture, and installation, Lee’s work frequently engages the legacy of transnational queer histories, particularly as they intersect with art history. His work has been presented in international exhibitions, including Singapore Biennale (2025), 60th Venice Biennale (2024), New Museum Triennial (2021), and Gwangju Biennale (2021). He also participated in Made in L.A. at Hammer Museum (2023). Recent institutional solo exhibitions have been held at MASP, São Paulo (2024), and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul (2023). Lee’s work is in the collections of Hammer Museum, LACMA, MASP, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and Whitney Museum of American Art, among others. A survey exhibition of Lee’s recent works, featuring a site-specific commission, will open at South London Gallery in December 2026.
