Our campus occupies 60 acres on hills overlooking the incorporated City of Santa Clarita, which encompasses the neighborhoods of Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, and Canyon Country. Whether you’re looking for household necessities, green space for walking or biking, or a quick bite, you’ll find many options within a 10-minute drive (or less!) of the CalArts campus.

  • Valencia Marketplace - 25888 The Old Rd, Stevenson Ranch, CA 91381
    ​This is the closest shopping center to campus, less than half a mile walk (across the 5 freeway overpass). Find the following retailers and restaurants in this location:

Farmers markets

In addition to the farmers market on CalArts’ campus (Wednesdays), Santa Clarita has two farmers markets and an open-air swap meet (flea market).

  • Old Town Newhall Farmers Market: 24500 Main St, Santa Clarita, CA 91321
    This market takes place on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 1 pm and is located 3.1 miles from campus.
  • Santa Clarita Certified Farmers’ Market: College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91355
    This market takes place on Sundays from 8 am to noon at the community college located across the street from CalArts. The walk to the parking lot is approximately one mile.
  • Valencia Farmer’s Market: Five Points, 27426 Navigation Ave, Valencia, CA 91381
    This market takes place on Sundays from 8:30 to 1 pm at The Porch, on the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Navigation Avenue, about 4 miles from campus.
  • Canyon Country Farmers Market Canyon Country Community Center, 18410 Sierra Highway, Santa Clarita, CA 91351
    This farmer’s market takes place on Wednesdays from 4 to 8pm at the community center in Canyon Country. 

Medical

  • Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital: 23845 McBean Pkwy., Valencia, CA 91355
    The hospital is less than a mile away down McBean Parkway.
  • Exer Urgent Care: 25548 The Old Road, #U1, Stevenson Ranch, CA 91381
    This urgent care center is located in the lower levels of the Valencia Marketplace.
