Aria for the Elements is a visual score woven from a pareidolic experience of browsing through an iPhone photo library. Broken into sections referencing earth, water, air, and fire, the collage of clips generates an homage to the elemental force and mysticism we can access within everyday life. Connecting to play and wonder within mundanity, the looped soundtrack is an improvisational piece sounding with and for the elements of our natural world. The space is adorned with correspondences of the alchemical symbolism of the four elements, surrounding performers who will sit in the center of the Wave Cave to interpret the score.
Opening Reception is Thursday, October 1st at 7pm, and will include an open invitation to musically improvise with the visual score.
