How to access your tuition statement

In order to review your tuition statement or to make a payment, log in to CalArts Student Self-Service.

If you are a parent or third party who does not have access to the Self-Service system, please work with your student to set up Self-Service proxy access.

Once you’re logged into the Self Service website:

Select “Student Finance.” This is your landing page. You will see your student account balance by term and type displayed here. You can choose to pay all or part of the balance online directly from this window by using the drop-down menu to choose an online payment method. Please see Payment Options for alternative ways to pay your tuition.

View your tuition statement: Select “Student Finance and Account Activity” to view the details of your tuition statement or print a statement. Use the drop-down menu to choose the academic term you would like to view. Charges, payments, deposits, and financial aid will be displayed in summary. Select either the name of each category or “Expand All “to view detailed transactions. Select ”View Statement” to view and print your statement for that particular term.

Student privacy

If you are a parent or guardian assisting a student with the processes listed above, you will not have access to any financial or academic information unless the student has granted Self-Service Proxy to you. Please have the student complete the Self Service Proxy to allow access.

Ways to pay your bill

There are many ways to pay for your tuition, fees, and other direct charges owed to CalArts. You’ll find details and directions for these options below.  Note that your balance must be paid in full by the tuition deadline, unless you are utilizing a monthly payment plan, in which case you will pay your full balance over the course a number of months.

Monthly Payments

California Institute of the Arts is partnered with Nelnet Campus Commerce to allow students to pay tuition and fees in installments, helping make college more affordable.

See enrollment dates and number of payments

  • The payment plan is not a loan, and has no credit checks, interest, or finance charges associated with this option.
  • The only cost to participate in the Nelnet program is a $45.00 per semester nonrefundable Nelnet Enrollment Fee.
  • The Nelnet payment plan is a flexible payment option that allows payments to be made from a U.S. checking or savings account or by Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit cards. No payment plan payments can be accepted at CalArts.
  • If you are enrolled in the payment plan, all payments must be made through Nelnet. CalArts cannot accept your monthly payment.
  • Once enrolled, your payments will be automatically withdrawn on the 10th of the month by Nelnet Campus Commerce.
  • Payments made with a credit card will be subject to a 2.85% convenience fee. There is no convenience fee for payments made from a checking or savings account. Please note, debit cards are associated with a bank account number and routing number. By entering your bank account number and routing number, there will be no service fee.
  • The method of payment is set up when the payment plan agreement is initiated through Nelnet.
  • Students who choose to use Nelnet may select installment plans that are spread over several months, depending on when the student registers. NOTE:  All down payments and enrollment fees are processed immediately!
  • If you enroll in a Nelnet payment plan and the plan is terminated for nonpayment, the entire outstanding balance for the semester becomes due to CalArts immediately.
  • Each semester you will need to re-enroll with Nelnet Campus Commerce, it will not happen automatically.

To set up a payment plan please visit https://mycollegepaymentplan.com/calarts/ or call Nelnet at 800-609-8056.
