Las Tres Hermanas is an collaboratively-written opera by the CalArts composers’ collective System 9. The opera, inspired by magical realism and indigenous Mexican folklore, tells two mirrored stories of three sisters—one of ancient myth and one in a modern, postcolonial setting. Join us for either evening to hear this original production inspired by Mexican folk music, Western classical music, experimentalism, and jazz.
