Mick Jenkins is a Chicago-based rapper and poet renowned for his commanding baritone, intricate wordplay, and socially conscious themes. Since his 2014 breakout mixtape, The Water(s), he has established himself as a central figure in alternative hip-hop, often using motifs like nature and hydration to explore truth and the human condition. Over a decade into his career, Jenkins has continued to evolve through critically acclaimed projects like The Patience (2023) and his 2025 collaborative album with EMIL, A MURDER OF CROWS. Most recently, in early 2026, he released the project BLACK ASS KUNG FU FLICK with producer greenSLLIME, further cementing his reputation as an independent artist who prioritizes lyrical depth and creative autonomy over mainstream trends.
