Aesthetic & Politics Lecture Spring Lecture Series presents Yvonne Yen Liu, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Solidarity Research Center in Los Angeles, and a Research Fellow at the Transnational Institute in Washington, D.C.

Yvonne’s talk will be structured around three themes: solidarity research, social movement halfway houses, and radical municipalism.

Yvonne Yen Liu is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Solidarity Research Center in Los Angeles, and a Research Fellow at the Transnational Institute in Washington, D.C. She serves on the boards of the Institute for Social Ecology, the New Economy Coalition, and the U.S. Solidarity Economy Network, and has taught in the gender studies and sociology departments at Cal State LA and City University of New York. She was the 2018 Activist-in-Residence Fellow at the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, and is Director of Research for the Maven Collaboration, an organization that centers race, gender, and joy in the pursuit of economic justice. Her writing has been featured in ColorlinesThe New York Review of Books, and Yes Magazine.
