Dive into Proxy, Chimera, Oracle, a captivating walkthrough featuring powerful new work by CalArts MFA graduates from the School of Art at The Reef.

CalArts at The Reef
1933 S. Broadway Los Angeles, California 90007

The show centers on the idea of the “afterimage”—the enduring, sometimes haunting, imprint that a moment, a loss, or a historical event leaves behind. These 34 artists explore how memory isn’t just a retinal flash, but a deep, lasting psychological force.

They approach big themes like the aftermath of empire and large-scale loss by creating art that acts as both a survival guide and a way to control the “fallout.”
