CAP/Banning's Landing Community Center Sony Pictures Media Arts Program (SPMAP)

This 30-week media arts program, held after-school twice a week, is for middle school students (ages 10 to 14). The class covers drawing, painting, animation and media arts. Students learn drawing and painting techniques, and how to draw from a model, animate, put together an art portfolio and create artwork on computers. The program culminates in a public exhibition and screening of the artwork produced by the students. This program is part of the Sony Pictures Media Arts Program, a partnership between the CalArts Community Arts Partnership, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

  • Dates: Oct. 6–Dec. 10, 2014 and Jan. 12–June 3, 2015 (No Class Oct. 13, Nov. 26, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, Mar. 23, Mar. 25, & May 25)
  • Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4–7 pm
  • Culminating Event: Saturday, June 13th @ 2 pm

CAP/Center for the Arts Eagle Rock Sony Pictures Media Arts Program (SPMAP)
