Life at CalArts
At CalArts, we know that thriving in creative endeavors goes hand in hand with maintaining both physical and mental health.
To support this, the Institute provides a range of health services, including counseling, medical care, and wellness programs, all tailored to meet our student body’s particular needs. Recreational activities and fitness resources are also available, encouraging students to find balance through physical activity and relaxation. By fostering a holistic approach to well-being, CalArts helps ensure that every student has the support they need to succeed both in their artistic pursuits and in their overall college experience.
The COOP Basic Needs Center (BNC) is a resource for all CalArts students experiencing food and basic-needs insecurity—which can be defined as a lack of consistent access to enough nutritious food and hygiene products for an active, healthy lifestyle.
At CalArts, we recognize the importance of nurturing not just the artistic talents of our students, but also their overall well-being. Our commitment to holistic student support is reflected in the wide range of recreational facilities and activities available, designed to promote physical health and offer relaxation amid the demands of academic life.
