Shaping Inheritance brings together all eight Charles Gaines Fellows across four fellowship cohorts for the first time, exploring how contemporary artists inherit—and transform—the systems that shape our lives. 

The LA Writers’ Workshop Play Reading Series presents  brand-new play readings from local playwrights—Bernardo Cubría, Keiko Green, Christina Pumariega, and Erika Sheffer—at REDCAT. This culminates a year-long commission and workshop process with Center Theatre Group (CTG).

When lightning ignites the redwood forest surrounding their home in Boulder Creek, longtime partners Beth and Annie are forced to evacuate and their lives are forever transformed. 

WINDWARD brings to life Fogo Island’s striking geological formations, unique climate, and austere beauty in the latest work by Sharon Lockhart. Filmed on the windswept northern face of the remote island off the coast of Newfoundland, the piece is organized by an unseen, persistent force—the breezes that descend uninterrupted from the Arctic.

Every order decides what belongs and what is left outside. Order and Its Others listens at the margins through works that organize sound, power, freedom, and collectivity in radically different ways.
