The Pool Issue 7

CalArts publishes several publications for its various audiences. The Pool is published twice a year for alumni, parents of current students, patrons and other friends of the Institute. In addition, the schools of Art and Critical Studies publish their own magazines that focus on West Coast art and literature, respectively.

The Pool

CalArts' new alumni magazine is named for the campus swimming pool at Chouinard Hall, remembered by alumni across our nearly 50 years of history as a place of connection, community and fun in the California sun.

CalArts Magazine

CalArts Magazine was published twice during the academic year and featured reports on a wide range of Institute-wide initiatives both on campus and internationally; profiles of new academic programs, exhibitions and performances; interviews with current students and alumni, updates on donor and parent engagement; capital projects and fundraising campaigns; and newly elected members of the Board of trustees. Recent faculty and alumni accomplishments, awards, exhibitions and performances were also noted. CalArts Magazine was produced by the Office of Communications. In the Spring of 2017, CalArts Magazine was relaunched as The Pool.
