CalArts is a creative space that offers a number of opportunities for students to explore many different art forms. To get a taste of this creativity a couple of CalArts Faculty and Alumnx have put together various workshops. These workshops are designed to help you not only explore new art forms but also to reflect on the power of being authentically you as you start at CalArts!

Over the past 25 years, Julie Bour’s achievement as dancer, choreographer and educator has been shared and recognized internationally. On stage, on set, or for site-specific projects her creativity has always been fueled by collaborators and performers - musicians, actors, photographers, visual artists, architects, cirque artists and dancers of various backgrounds. Julie creates context and content that empower both the participant and the viewer. Julie’s main goal is to help shape through movement, soul meaningful testimonies that bring about a change in mental attitudes. Through cross-disciplinary investigations, she discovers new paths and methodologies that continue to forge her creative path, one that breaks distinction between life and dance and expands her vision of the world. Julie is a full-time Faculty in the dance school at CalArts since 2013, she has created crossover classes with the Animation program as well as the Acting program, and she is presently the head of the Master program in Choreography.

Siti Lu is an animation director, storyboard artist and animator based in Los Angeles. After graduation character animation program from CalArts in 2021. She has been working as a storyboard artist at Cartoon Network, Netflix Titmouse, etc. She is currently a storyboard artist at Bento Box entertainment.
