The
2018 CalArts Expo features technologically adventurous and imaginative new work from students, faculty, alumni and guest artists who practice across all disciplines.
The annual CalArts Expo features future-looking presentations in entertainment, gaming and digital culture, and demonstrates how the arts can lead the development of new and innovative technologies.
Projects by students, faculty members and guest artists reflect the latest practices in technologically sophisticated arts that involve viewers in interactive experiences; bring artists' perspectives to computer games, forecast future directions of digital performance, animation and projection mapping; and explore the latest in software and hardware as a means of commenting on our increasingly connected world.
The 2018 CalArts Expo opens to the public at 2 pm on
Thursday, May 3, with exhibitions and demonstrations at several venues throughout the Institute, including the Roy O. Disney Concert Hall and Lobby, Walt Disney Modular Theater and Lobby, Main Gallery, The Wild Beast, Machine Lab, WaveCave, Sharon Disney Lund Theater, and more. The Expo features talks, exhibitions, and performances throughout the day and late into the night.
