Requirements

Calarts School of Dance is seeking an Assistant Technical Director who will work under the Technical Director to oversee all productions and technical needs for the school. This faculty position is a temporary full-time ten month position with the chance of renewal. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•    Schedule / Coordinate Crews for Productions    
•    Train and manage assigned production crews
•    Teaching sections for Production Technology and Concepts in Lighting Design
•    Assist in developing comprehensive build calendar for each production
•    Help with purchasing and installation of equipment and technology
•    Help research and install capital improvements to facilities
•    Implementing Lighting and Scenic Designs, Rigging, and Light Construction
•    Stay current with theater technology
•    Supervise production crew
•    Interact with wide range of staff, students, faculty, and administration
•    Help in managing production tour needs and travel to off-campus shows
•    Supervise students in the care, maintenance, of the School of Dance performance space and facilities

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to independently lead and supervise crews
•    Strong organizational skills

Qualifications

•    Minimum BA in Technical Theatre or Equivalent experience
•    Minimum 4 years’ experience in technical theatre, preferably with experience in Electrics, Rigging, Carps, and Multimedia
•    Have working knowledge of all aspects of event production
•    Knowledge and experience working with Digital Media
•    Google Docs and Calendar Management via Google Drive
