Campus Visits

We hope that you have an opportunity to visit our campus.

Information Sessions

Information sessions are small group meetings led by an Admissions Counselor to provide an opportunity for students to learn more about our programs and to ask questions about the application process.  The information sessions require a reservation and are held for each of the following schools: Art, Film/Video (including animation), Music, and Theater. We encourage you to register for the information sessions at least a couple of weeks in advance. Space is limited. 

The Spring information session schedule is as follows (January 12 - May 14):  

  • Art: Tuesdays and Fridays, 11am
  • Film/Video and Animation: Tuesdays and Fridays, 1pm*
  • Theater: Mondays and Thursdays, 11am
  • Music: Mondays and Thursdays, 1pm
  • Dance: To schedule, contact Angel McLendon directly at amclendon@calarts.edu
  • Creative Writing and Aesthetics & Politics: To schedule, contact Seth Blake directly at sblake@calarts.edu

*Additional Film/Video and Animation information sessions will also be available on Wednesdays, March 4 - April 29, from 1pm - 2pm.  

If you would like to attend an information session, you must register for a specific date through our online event registration page.

Campus Tours

During the Spring semester (January 12 - May 14), we offer tours Monday through Friday at noon.  

Please view our calendar of upcoming events for more information and to make sure a tour will be offered on the date you wish to visit.  

You should arrive no later than 11:45am if you wish to take the tour.

Spring Schedule & Holiday Closures:

During the Spring semester (starting January 12), CalArts will be closed on January 19 and February 16.  Tours and information sessions will not be available on those days.  For more information and to register for a specific information session, please view our calendar of upcoming events

Summer Schedule & Holiday Closures:

During the Summer (May 18 - September 4), CalArts is closed on Fridays.  Tours and information sessions are not availble those days.  Additionally, CalArts will be closed on May 25 and July 2 for the holiday weekends.  For more information and to register for a specific information session, please view our calendar of upcoming events.

Getting to CalArts

CalArts' 60-acre, residential campus is located in Valencia, CA in the Santa Clarita Valley. The campus is north of Los Angeles, adjacent to Interstate Highway 5 on McBean Parkway -- 40 miles from Los Angeles International Airport, 21 miles from the Burbank Airport and 44 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.
