2020 Acting Audition Schedule

Auditions times for each day are either 9am-12pm, or 1pm-4pm. Please plan on being available for the entire block of time, although once your audition is complete, you may finish earlier. To register for an audition, interested students should submit an application through the CalArts website.  Additional information on audition requirements can be found here. Los Angeles, CA: CalArts Campus

London, UK: (South Kensington)

The Head of the MFA Acting program Mirjana Jokovic and Associate Dean of the School of Theater Andrea LeBlanc will hold auditions for all interested international applicants interested in our BFA and MFA Acting programs on Jan 13-14, 2020, in London, England.  In addition to being an integral part of the application process, these auditions will also count toward artistic, merit-based scholarship awards for all students applying.

**If you are an MFA applicant planning to audition in Chicago, please note that we reserve a limited number of individual audition slots for direct applicants who are not participating in URTAs. Applicants should contact Rachel Park at rpark@calarts.edu to reserve one of these slots directly.  We will hold general audition days with faculty in Los Angeles and New York on the dates listed above.


2019 Design and Production and Creative Producing and Management Interview Schedule

BFA Program Interviews

Interviews for the BFA Design and Production program are by invitation only. Students will be notified of a request for interview by the end of the first week in February, with interviews taking place in early March. Prospective students must complete the admissions application requirements and the online portfolio by the general application deadline if they wish to be considered for an interview.

Not all candidates will be invited to interview. Interviews may be held by phone for applicants unable to attend the in-person interview day on campus, although an in-person interview is preferred when possible.

Graduate Program Interviews

Applicants will be contacted if an interview is requested by Faculty. Not all candidates will be invited to interview. Interviews may be held by phone, although an in-person interview is preferred when possible.

Prospective students must complete the admissions application requirements and the online portfolio to be considered for admission. The online application must be submitted before an interview will be scheduled.

CalArts School of Theater faculty will participate in URTAs in New York and Chicago and will meet graduate applicants across specific specializations of Design, Technical Direction, and Arts Leadership.  To see if your specific area will be represented at this event, please contact the Admissions Counselor.  All students are encouraged to apply to the institute directly.
