Experience Design and Production and Creative Producing and Management Interview Schedule
Students applying to our specializations in Experience Design and Production and Creative Producing and Management for a Fall 2022 start are asked to submit a portfolio. We are hoping to host a combination of in-person and virtual interviews with faculty in the spring of 2022, pending pandemic developments. More details on these interviews will be distributed to applicants in Fall 2021. Not all applicants will be invited to an interview.
BFA Program Interviews
Interviews for the BFA Experience Design and Production program are by invitation only. Students will be notified of a request for an interview after the completion of preliminary reviews by faculty, sometime in February. Prospective students must fulfill all admissions application requirements and submit the online portfolio by the general application deadline if they wish to be considered for an interview.
Graduate Program Interviews
Applicants will be contacted if an interview is requested by Faculty. Not all candidates will be invited to interview. Interviews may be held by phone, although an in-person interview is preferred when possible.
Prospective students must complete the admissions application requirements and the online portfolio to be considered for admission. The online application must be submitted before an interview will be scheduled.
CalArts School of Theater faculty may participate in select URTA events for MFA Acting candidates. Applicants auditioning via URTA are still required to complete the online application. If you plan to participate in URTA's and are considering CalArts, starting a CalArts application is an important first step.
