Southern California Air Quality and Fire Information

There are several wildfires burning in Southern California. Two separate wildfires — the Woolsey Fire and the Hill Fire — broke out in Ventura County on Thursday, Nov. 8, which spread toward the Malibu area on Friday. There is also a smaller brush fire burning in Griffith Park in Los Angeles.

While these fires are not close to the CalArts campus, the administration continues to monitor all fires as well as air quality for the health and safety for students, faculty and staff.

If your home is in an area affected by the fires and you need to leave CalArts or stay home to monitor the fire, please notify your school, office or supervisor of your situation.
