Dear School of Theater Community,
I am sending you this update on our 2020/21 school year plans as a follow up to the email communications from the Provost and President's Offices. For our community's health and safety, all winter and spring courses will be conducted online. Again, we will endeavor to use campus facilities and make campus resources available to students for art-making as is safe and as local/county authorities permit.
While we are not surprised by the Board's decision, we share your disappointment that our return to campus is further off than we had hoped.
We will continue our commitment to upholding the singular CalArts educational experience. Your faculty and staff are reimagining and reinvigorating our classes and project models with creativity and artistic rigor. A host of guest artists, who could not have otherwise traveled to our campus, are joining us from around the world. And we are exploring exciting, singular ways to realize our curricular projects and initiatives in the Spring.
Know that we are here for you as always. I am so proud of the many ways our community continues to explore, create, and show up for each other.
