There is some good news on the horizon for higher education faculty and staff. The California Department of Public Health has announced that Under Phase 1B, Tier 1, the sector population for Education and Childcare has been updated. It now states that this includes, among others, “All staff in colleges, universities, junior colleges, community colleges, and other postsecondary education facilities.”
We will email you as we learn more about the timing for the opening of our vaccine distribution Phase and Tier, share information about vaccination sites and also advise you when we have more guidance about vaccines from federal, state, and local public health authorities.
At this time we strongly encourage you to get a COVID -19 vaccine when and where you're able to do so.
Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has now advised that those who have been fully vaccinated and who have been exposed to COVID will not need to quarantine.
