The following message was distributed to the CalArts community from CalArts President Ravi Rajan:
As the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across the globe, Los Angeles County has seen an increase in the number of cases over the past week. Out of an abundance of caution, CalArts has decided to POSTPONE THE 2020 DONOR LUNCHEON SCHEDULED FOR THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 12 in order to limit potential close contact with individuals who might be carrying the virus.
We're sorry for any inconvenience that this unfortunate postponement might cause. Our plan is to reschedule the event later in the spring. We hope that you understand that the health of our community, which includes all of you, is of the utmost importance, and we want to ensure you that we are taking every precaution necessary to keep us all healthy.
We will be in touch soon with information about when the Donor Luncheon will be rescheduled.
Again, we apologize for this inconvenience, thank you for your understanding, and thank you most of all for your support of our students through scholarships!
