Raphael Fonseca is a researcher in curating, art history, art criticism, and education. He is a curator of modern and contemporary Latin American art at the Denver Art Museum. He worked as a curator at the Contemporary Art Museum of Niterói, Brazil, from 2017 to 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in Critic and Art History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, specializing in the relations between art, visual culture, and history in its many conceptions. The juxtaposition of different temporalities and how it can bring contemporary reflections to the audience has a significant role in his practice.
