PACT Zollverein, Essen, Germany

INSTITUTE: CalArts students and graduates representing the schools of Art, Critical Studies, Dance, Film/Video, Music, and Theater will present a selection of original artwork during CalArts’ first international festival, held at PACT Zollverein in Germany.  The art will highlight the spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration, excellence in specialized art practice, and the cutting-edge art for which CalArts is renowned.

PACT Zollverein is an internationally renowned center for the performing arts situated in the former coal factory complex of the Zollverein World Heritage site in Essen, Germany.  CalArts Plays Itself festival will be part of the larger Ruhrtriennale 2011.

THURSDAY, 29TH SEPTEMBER
6PM Opening with installations, video and sonic arts, sculpture and photography
7PM Film program
 followed by opening of the Art exhibition

FRIDAY, 30TH SEPTEMBER
FROM 3PM Art exhibition
FROM 7PM Installations, video and sonic arts, sculpture and photography
8PM music and performance program

SATURDAY, 1ST OCTOBER
FROM 3PM Art exhibition
FROM 7PM Installations,

7PM Dance program
8PM Film program

SUNDAY, 2ND OCTOBER
12 – 4PM Art exhibition with performance and installations, video and sonic arts, sculpture and photography
