Tonya M. Foster is the author of A Swarm of Bees in High Court, and co-editor of Third Mind: Creative Writing through Visual Art. Her work has appeared in CallalooMiPoesiasWestern Humanities Review, the Poetry Foundation’s Harriet blog, The Hat and elsewhere. In a review, Patricia Spears Jones says, “Foster's imaginative work glories in language's ambiguities, discords, emotions and logic—she allows that imaginative thrall to explore race and gender and political dysfunction.” A New Orleans native, Tonya Foster is a resident of Harlem and San Francisco where she is an assistant professor of Writing & Literature and Graduate Writing at California College of the Arts.
