From Friday, April 29, through Sunday, May 1, 2022, the CalArts World Music Festival brings traditions from around the globe to Southern California. Over one spectacular weekend, audiences will experience a variety of world-class world musicians, on the campus of California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Valencia. Since 1974, this one-of-a-kind annual festival has brought celebrated international artists to perform with CalArts’ renowned World Music Program faculty and students. After a two-year pause from live performances, the community is geared up and excited to announce the return of the festival! Presented by The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts, the 2022 festival features music from; Iran; Bali & Java, Indonesia; India; Ghana, Africa; as well as cross-cultural fusion from much of the rest of the world.
