REDCAT presents a special Frieze preview of Lionel Popkin's Reorient the Orient.

In the theater and gallery at REDCAT, live dancers, videos, archival materials, rugs, sculptures, neon yellow waffle balls, and the headpiece from an elephant costume invite audiences to make their way through Popkin’s nearly 30-year archive of dance-making. Part performance, installation, and social agitation, Reorient the Orient is renowned choreographer and performer Lionel Popkin’s response to the dubious history of interculturalism. The preview includes a performance at 4 pm, with a reception to follow.

3:30 pm: Doors Open
4 pm: Performance Begins
5 pm: Reception
