For this year’s Solos, A theme was provided for the choreographers that would create space for unique, individual interpretations – Ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail, an ancient symbol evoking the cycle of life, death and rebirth – and they were asked to use this image to reflect on where they find themselves at this moment in their artistic cycle. As we witness their evolving artistic journeys through the metaphor of Ouroboros, we participate in the evolution of their personal and artistic ideas and ideals – the shedding of old skin, the destruction of old patterns, and the creation of new paths and emerging new selves. We hope you enjoy these embodied translations and transmutations!
