I am proposing an open studio BB6 E on Friday, February 1st, 2019. The evening will be comprised of a salon-style showcase of primarily my own art as well as work with Georgia Reid (BFA 2 Art), and Josh Cloud (BFA 2 Ex. Animation). There will be paintings, sculpture, prints, adn small pieces, such as clay figures and stickers. Some of these works will be for sale, prices ranging from $1 - $15.
The primary function of this event is to test out my new sculpture piece, Orgy. It has complex red lighting elements that are very temperamental and I have not displayed it for more than 20 minutes at a time. My studio is a good, controllable space to display in the piece in.
I think this would be a good way of getting feedback and testing its durability before its eventual showing at my mid-res in the fall.
The second portion of the event would be live music performances, as I have been collaborating with many students from the music school on design projects. The bands would be staged backs against the tan shipping containers behind BB6. They can provide their own equipments, including amplifiers. This will be a light reception outside - light snacks served.
