Sixteen exhausted travelers encounter the miracle of flowing water. Along this meditative journey, poetry melts into silence, dancing flows in frozen air, and a fear of death is muted in slowness. Life explores an unknown way back as it moves forward, looking for its oasis. The Water Station (Mizu no Eki) is an experimental play by Japanese playwright Ōta Shōgo, drawing on his own experience of displacement and exploring what he called the ‘aesthetics of quietude’.
