This exhibition is a collaboration between CalArts' Art students Christina Niazian and Julie Cabral with  CalArts alumnus Dave Muller. Muller was born in 1964 in San Francisco. He received a BA in chemistry and art from the University of California at Davis in 1989 and briefly studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York from 1990 to 1991 before earning an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 1993.

From the organizers:

"While Muller was a student at CalArts, he opened his studio up to host one-day shows for students in the Art School—making his studio become essentially a student-run gallery. From 1994 to 2000, Muller became known for nomadic social art events, known as Three Day Weekends. We curate a show that represents, and comments on the CalArts Art School. We used information from the CalArts archive, as well as using Dave's personal archive, and collection. We wanted to focus on student run, and student led critiques, lectures, exhibitions, bands, etc. We not only wanted to focus on what is being done in the institution but, the possibility of exhibiting outside of this space- post grad. Three Day Weekend being an example."

Muller lectures on Archive Archive on Thursday, May 11 at 7 pm.
