International Engagement Opportunities

  1. Fulbright Program

Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided more than 318,000 participants —chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential— with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists to study, conduct research, and/or teach English abroad. In addition, Critical Language Enhancement Awards are available to grantees for study of critical need foreign languages before or during their grant period. Grant lengths and dates vary by country, so some research to identify appropriate grants for each applicant.

Application cycle for 2027-28 begins in spring, with a September submission deadline. The CalArts Fulbright Program Advisor holds info sessions throughout the Spring semester and is available for consultation.

Spring 2026 info sessions:

  • Wednesday, March 4, 12-1 pm, Langley
  • Thursday, April 9, 5-6 pm, Zoom
