Study abroad programs
The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts maintains student exchange programs with a number of schools in Europe and Asia. CalArts students interested in going on exchange should visit the Hub to read the requirements and fill out the Exchange Inquiry Form. Students must speak with the Office of International & Community Partnerships and International Student Exchanges during the fall semester to learn about the various programs available the following school year.

The annual CalArts Jazz album recording offers students an extraordinary opportunity to record original compositions in a world-class studio alongside top engineers. Open to all music students, this project encourages creative exploration across genres, reflecting the eclectic spirit of CalArts. Students gain invaluable hands-on experience in live recording sessions and see their work professionally produced, enhancing technical skills, creative confidence, and professional portfolios.
