A Center for Experimentation, Discovery and Civic Discourse

Each season, REDCAT presents dynamic and far-reaching work by an international roster of innovative visual, performing and media artists. Located inside the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall complex in Downtown Los Angeles, REDCAT houses a 200-seat theater, a 3,000-foot gallery space and a lounge. Through performances, exhibitions, screenings and literary events, REDCAT introduces varied audiences, including CalArts students and artists, to ground-breaking arts and artists from around the world.

REDCAT continues the traditions and extends the reach of its parent organization, CalArts, by supporting the commission, production and presentation of today’s most challenging works. It also provides local artists the creative support they need to achieve national and international stature. Like CalArts, REDCAT encourages experimentation, discovery and lively civic discourse.
