Sharon Lam was born in Hong Kong and began studying piano at the age of seven. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance and Music Education from The Texas State University. Sharon is also a certified Yamaha Music Education System instructor and a member of the Music Teacher Association of California. Additionally, she holds a Performer’s Diploma (A.T.C.L.) from Trinity College of Music, London, England and has passed numerous piano examinations with distinction from Royal School of Music in London. Sharon was the dance accompanist for the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Dance, Hong Kong Region. After moving to the Los Angeles area, she has continued as an accompanist for various dance studios, including Pasadena Dance Theatre, Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Juilliard School of Dance, the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, California Institute of the Arts, California State Summer School for the Arts, USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Gibney Company, Ballet Hispánico, Body Traffic, Matthew Bourne New Adventures (Dance Company) and CLI Studios production “A New Stage” performed by Tiler Peck, Sierra Boggess, Roman Mejia, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Additionally, she is the Director of Education at the California Music Academy, in Arcadia, California.
