In 1980, Dreisen Rappaport created an art consulting partnership with the late Marcia Simon Weisman. They curated art exhibits at the Bank of Los Angeles and Trumps Restaurant for the late Sheldon Andelson for eight years. The company’s services included helping businesses and individuals buy contemporary art. It was at this time that Dreisen Rappaport began buying art for her personal collection.

In 1980, Dreisen Rappaport became involved in many community activities. She was a founder of the Museum of Contemporary Art and is a member of the board of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Dreisen Rappaport is the past chairman of the board of trustees of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, and she continues to serve on the board.

She also serves as a board member of the Blue Ribbon at the Music Center. She served as co-chair of Governor Davis’s Inauguration. Dreisen Rappaport was chairman of the Los Angeles Millennium as one of the co-chairs of the Democratic National Convention Host Committee for Los Angeles. These days, Dreisen Rappaport enjoys spending time with her and her husband’s 15 grandchildren, in addition to continuing her involvement in the arts.

Dreisen Rappaport received the 2005 Trustee Award.
