The Writing Center

The Writing Center, located in the Library, is a place where students can meet one-on-one with trained writing tutors to work on any writing-related task they face—from academic papers to artist statements, grant applications to resumes.

Students can either drop into the center to meet with a tutor for a 30-minute session on a first-come-first-served basis, or they can make an appointment via the website to meet with a tutor for up to one hour.

Tutors will assist students as they develop the skills of self-editing, organization, idea development, clarity and concision, and critical thinking. It is recommended that students plan to see a tutor more than once in the process of completing an assignment in order to receive the most comprehensive benefit.
