Evan Tapper

Evan Tapper (he/him) has taught studio art courses at universities since 2001. He has held teaching appointments at the University of Toronto Scarborough, Ontario College of Art and Design University, McMaster University, and the State University of New York College at Fredonia. Evan volunteered at The Redwood shelter in Toronto, running the art program for children and youth from 2004 until leaving Canada for Southern California in 2023.

Evan’s studio practice encompasses animation, video, performance, and installation. He was an artist-in-residence at the Jewish Museum in New York, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, and the Centre for Contemporary Art in Kitakyushu, Japan. His artwork has been screened and exhibited at festivals, museums, galleries, and events around the world, such as the Melbourne International Animation Festival, Tate Modern, Ace Art Inc, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Media, Toronto History Museums, and World Pride.
