Raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, Jeffrey Teeter is an accomplished video, lighting, and sound designer and educator dedicated to inspiring and educating through visual environments and sensory experiences for Live and Themed entertainment. He is a creative storyteller who is highly organized and detail oriented in documentation, coordination, and execution in order to achieve the creative scope of a project. He understands that the devil is in the details, with a focus on setting up projects for success from the start, thus ensuring integration and collaboration with other disciplines so that they flow as seamlessly as possible. He strives to ensure that our environment is enjoyable, efficient, and effective. 

Jeffrey received his BA from California Institute of the Arts with a focus in Lighting and Sound Design. During his tenure, he became impassioned with the emerging field of video projection design and was given the opportunity to design several School of Theater and CalArts Center for New Performance projects including: 11 September, 2001 directed by Robert Cantrell at REDCAT and the National Theatre of Paris; Mycenaean by Carl Hancock Rux at Brooklyn Academy of Music Harvey Theater; Piedra de Sol directed by Maria Moret at the Getty Villa; Brewsie & Willie directed by Travis Preston; The Carolyn Bryant Project directed by Nataki Garrett.

After graduating, Jeffrey continued his passion and has worked on numerous projects and productions throughout the world. His notable theater design includes: FireFlies directed by Lou Bellamy at South Coast Rep; Silent Sky directed by Casey Stangl and Holmes and Watson directed by David Ira Goldstein at Arizona Theatre Center; The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: DISCORD directed by Matt August at Arizona Theatre Center, Geffen Playhouse, and NoHo Arts Center; Kirk Douglas: Before I Forget directed by Jeff Kanew at the Kirk Douglas Theatre; Apollo directed by Nancy Keystone at Portland Center Stage and in the Smithsonian Collection; Norman’s Ark directed by Peter Schneider at the Ford Amphitheater; On the Spectrum (Ovation Video Design Award) and Cyrano at the Fountain Theatre; Associate Designer for Baby It’s You written and directed by Floyd Mutrux at the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway; Associate Designer for Tribes at the Mark Taper Forum; The CanCan and Above the Fold at Pasadena Playhouse.

Jeffrey’s journey eventually led him to themed entertainment design, consulting, and project management. From Lighting Director for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood to developing a resort wide lighting design for Beaver Creek Resort Company in Colorado. His other notable work includes: Super Mario Kart the Ride as LAV Design Consultant; Audubon Shark Exhibit in New Orleans as AV Design Consultant; The Sazerac House in New Orleans as AV Design Consultant; Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Interactive Discovery Center in Paris and Las Vegas as Lighting Designer and AV Design Consultant; The Leading Matters and Stanford Challenge National tour as Video Director. His Live Broadcast and TV experience includes: Love has No Labels, a national public service announcement about unity, love, and compassion (Emmy winner for Outstanding Commercial); Cheryl Burke’s Love on the Floor at the Orb Theater in Tokyo; Audi commercial advertisement campaigns for the voice and #PaidMyDues; All That Skate, an international ice skating show at the Staples Center; and multiple AMC premieres.
