MFA

The MFA Collaborative Keyboard Specialization prepares advanced students for careers in various collaborative keyboard disciplines.

This course of study concentrates on multiple aspects of collaborative performance, including work in vocal and instrumental chamber music, conducted ensembles and opera, while also refining repertoire knowledge and language facility.

Possible ensemble work may include participation in chamber music, Baroque ensemble, and collaboration with the principal conducted faculty-student group, the Ensemble at CalArts. Collaborative Keyboard candidates are also encouraged to explore studies in harpsichord, jazz, improvisation, interactive computer technology, and pedagogy.
