'Gregor's Big Red Balloon'
CalArts, Coffeehouse Theater
THEATER: Gregor's Big Red Balloon, a dark comedy written by Sarah Louise Wilson (BFA Theater 01), investigates love's transience in a world of fleeting faith. Based on contemporary relationships, the play begs the question, "How far would you go to make love stay?" This actors' workshop project is a directorial collaboration between Randall Whittinghill (BFA Theater 02) and Wilson, who first met as students while attending CalArts. The play tracks the relationship of Gregor and Scarlett, who even as children, knew their souls were bound to one another. When after one horrific evening, the entire relationship goes awry, Gregor and Scarlett must struggle to redefine their identities without each other.
