Description
This course is structured around supporting student progress on independent work. It could be a independent study, directed study, lesson, or mentoring.
Considerations for Course Design
Considerations for Facilitation
- In your first meeting, discuss with the student their goals around their work; how they will share their progress and how often you will communicate. We recommend email for exchanging work in progress or files, but you could also set up a Google Drive folder if appropriate.
- To help coordinate meetings with students or mentees, we recommend setting up a way for students to book appointments with a guest—here is how to do it with Google Calendar and Zoom.
- Practice getting familiar with Zoom so you can focus on leading discussion with your student or mentee. Using Zoom for Remote Instruction has some good tips.
