Undergraduate core courses are the foundation of BFA studies at CalArts, providing a strong general education and opportunities to deepen every student's artistic practice.

Offering innovative continuing education arts courses designed to meet the needs of both emerging artists and lifelong learners.
For courses that are not available through online signup, and for general mentoring and discussion with faculty, students are invited to attend course advising day. This is where you will have the opportunity to sign up for any courses listed as permission of instructor, independent study, or any course you were unable to add through online class signup.
Please check which time frame you need to attend below. Students are assigned a morning or afternoon time by last name:
• A-K: 10:00am to 1:00pm (PDT)
• L-Z: 3:00pm to 6:00 pm (PDT)

The Office of Campus Life oversees and supports two actives areas of our campus: Student Engagement and Residence Education.
Student Engagement includes supporting our campus clubs and organizations as well as hosting campus-wide on-line events such as virtual dinner parties, Jackbox game nights, open mic and gallery nights to name a few programs we will be hosting this upcoming semester.
Residence Education houses approximately 500 students in two residence halls on CalArts campus. Due to state and local guidelines we are currently unable to house students on campus. However, our Residence Education team is still here to support students while they are living off campus. Please feel free to reach out to them regarding our off campus housing guide and hotle living opportunity for CalArts students.
