Welcome 2015/2016 Applicants
Welcome to the start of your CalArts experience. As you explore your housing options, consider on-campus housing, which provides greater exposure to the CalArts community and the Santa Clarita Valley. On-campus housing places you in a position to maximize your experience at CalArts. Knowing your community can create a positive living situation. We accommodate just over a third of the campus population through either Chouinard Hall or Ahmanson Hall. If you are interested in on-campus accommodations, please read through our Residence Life Brochure and submit the 2015/16 On-Campus Housing Application per the instructions below.
Arriving On Campus
New student check-in day is Saturday September 5th, 2015. We will be offering van runs to the Bob Hope Burbank Airport and Van Nuys Flyaway Bus Station on this day. More information regarding specific check-in times, van run reservations, and roommate information will be sent in early August. Room numbers are not given out in advance of arrival. Please be sure to read through the Residence Life Brochure for information on what to bring, how to get here, policies, and much much more.

Applying for On-Campus Housing
If you would like to apply for on-campus housing for the 2015-16 academic year, please download the application below and return it to the Residence Life Office. Applications may be submitted via regular mail, e-mail, fax, or hand-delivery to the Residence Life Office. Please include your $350.00 deposit when submitting your application.
New/Incoming student On-Campus Housing Application deadline has passed, but you can still apply! If a space is not immediately availabe when we receive your completed
application, you will be placed on a short waiting list until you either
secure a space or choose to be removed from the waiting list.
Our availability of spaces changes on a daily basis as we are receiving cancellations and new applications regularly. If you are interested in living on-campus, we would strong recommend that you apply as soon as possible. Waited listed applications still have a good chance of securing a space over the course of the summer. Please call to speak to one of our staff members if you are concerned about your application status.

- Alternate Methods of Payment: Pay by Phone: The best method for current students to pay is by visiting the cashier window in the Accounting Office to pay in-person.
You may also call the Accounting Office 661-253-7846 to pay by credit card. Pay by Wire Transfer: If you are paying by wire
transfer, be sure to check with your bank as to the cost of the wire. The bank usually deducts the cost of the wire from the amount of money that you send, which in some instances may cause your payment to be short.
