Hauser & Wirth is delighted to announce that Andrew Cunningham and Hande Sever have been chosen to take part in the 2018 Hauser & Wirth Exchange Residency for post-MFA students.
This initiative is designed to support emerging artists affiliated with Bath Spa University and the California Institute for the Arts (CalArts) by offering locations to live and work for an intensive period of short-term residency in Los Angeles, USA and Somerset, UK.
The programme, which was launched in 2017, encourages independent work while also providing support through contact with academics, curators, and artists. Additionally, the residency aims to foster conditions for both reflection and spirited critical debate. The residencies are at Bath School of Art & Design, Bath Spa University, Bath, UK and California Institute for the Arts, Valencia, California for the duration of the programme. Hauser & Wirth Somerset and Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles will support each location respectively and encourage opportunities for the successful candidate to benefit from the activities at the galleries. The residency will run at each location during a different period, allowing each candidate to provide support to one another during their stay.
