Presentations by Recent MA Graduates
Thesis research presentations by graduates of the MA Program in Aesthetics and Politics program in the School of Critical Studies at the California Institutes of the Arts.

Claudia Grigg Edo is a theorist and writer from London. She is a Calarts Critical Studies Teaching Fellow this year, currently teaching a class on the politics of desire.

Eloy Neira is a Peruvian Musician and writer. He holds a BMUS from McGill University, and an MFA in Music Performance, as well as an MA in Aesthetics and Politics from CalArts. In his Writing, he uses the Novo Peruvian Cuisine and Chicha Music as an entry point to discuss the aesthetico-political conflicts of a Peruvian society which is still struggling to decolonize itself. He is also one of the founding members of an LA Cumbia band which plays cumbia from all the America and tries to redefine their multiple Latinidades.

Josh Widera is a performance thinker and maker and one sixth of the experimentalist performance research collective The Doing Group. He holds an MA of the first class in Politics and Theatre Studies from the University of Glasgow and an MA in Aesthetics and Politics from the California Institute of the Arts. He is supported by the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the ERP-Stipendium and the Fulbright Commission.
