MU/巫: 9 Goddesses is a new ritual theater shamanic experience where ancestral traditions are transmuted through dance, singing, drumming, and electronic soundscapes, with immersive video and stage design, and community participation. By transforming into nine goddesses from past, present, and future, Dohee Lee transports audiences on a mythological journey through ancestral legacies and indigenous resistance.

This workshop will be integrated with personal, social, environmental, historical and ancestral relations with natural elements, wisdoms from professional artistic movement ritual practices. Dohee’s work is deeply influenced by her cultural background based on East Asian philosophy, ancestral knowledge, Korean traditional arts with new art forms and rituals in resistance. Dohee will also work with sound and utterance as a way to communicate with human and nonhuman ancestors. How can elements teach us how to move? How can wind, fire, earth, stone and water, and generative processes such as decomposition shape our movement on earth and humanity. This workshop will guide into participatory virtual performance ritual.
Recommended: drawing and writing materials; comfortable clothes
NOTE: This artist workshop will be recorded. Please note that footage of you may be used in the artist's final performance and on social media. By participating in the workshop, you hereby consent to all such filming and to unrestricted transmissions of any resulting program.
