Since its inception in 2013, the spirit of Expo has been to connect every school and all manners of creative work at CalArts through a unified event. In these trying times of global social distancing there has never been a more important time for glueing us all together, and we want to use the expo platform to continue that spirit in a new virtual and safe manner.
For Expo 2020, our student-led teams will continue to launch a version of CalArts Expo by creating virtual spaces in three areas:
- A Virtual Campus Gallery: We will be creating a virtual 3D world representing the CalArts campus, in which we can display images of your work.
- Social Media: We will use social media to promote student work and portfolios.
- Music/Video Streaming: We will be setting up a platform to share recorded music, film, and video through YouTube, Vimeo, and Spotify
Students can submit your work here. Submissions deadline is Friday, April 24, 2020.
We understand that many of student participants might not be able to present your work in a virtual format, and please know that we are working on finding ways to support all forms of project submissions.
The goal is to launch Expo on May 15, 2020, which coincides with graduation day, so we can celebrate all the work we have done during this time.
