FAQ

Can I be a mentor for a career that I am no longer in?

Yes. However, your contacts and knowledge of the field should be current and in line with current industry standards.

What’s the program length?

February to August 2018.  Future programs will be announced in the Network e-news.

What monthly time commitment am I expected to make?

1 to 2 hours.

What type of leadership is expected of mentors?

Career guidance to help a mentee move forward in their field. Please know, there is not an expectation for mentee job placement. If opportunities arise to introduce mentees to networking opportunities, that is more than welcome.

What do I do if my mentor or mentee is not a good fit?

Contact  the Alumnx Engagement Office at alumnx@calarts.edu. Every situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and reassignment may occur if possible.

How do I give feedback on the program after participating?

After the program ends in May, the Alumni Engagement Office will send all participants a survey to evaluate the program and provide constructive feedback.
